Below is an introduction to your accommodation to provide you with essential information to help you prepare for arriving and living in Thornbank Gardens. Getting to Thornbank Gardens

Once you have collected your key from the City Accommodation Centre, your accommodation is a 15-minute walk from Green Park House. Alternatively, you could take a short taxi ride. Your accommodation address is:

Arriving at Thornbank Gardens

Thornbank Garden is made up of four blocks. As you arrive via the main gates, the first block is Maple, then Cedar, Oak and Maple. To access level 2 to 5, there are stairs between each block. There is also lift access.

To get to your flat, you will need to swipe your access card (this will either be your library card or a temporary access card) on the reader (which is on the left of the main door of your flat). You then need to take the lift to the floor. You will need your access card to get into your flat group and your physical key to access your bedroom.

Getting to and from campus

Your nearest bus stop is on Corn Street (BS1 1JQ) or Dorchester Street (BA1 1SS). Bath Unibus Service U1/U2 will take you between the University of Bath and the City Centre. It runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and there is a bus up to every five minutes during the day.

Beyond your accommodation

Living in the city means you have Virgil Building, our city centre student hub close by. You can find informal study areas in open-plan spaces or bookable spaces great for group work. There is also a study space available 24 hours a day in Green Park House.

Your ResLife Operations Team

There is plenty of support to help you settle into your new home. If you need to ask anything about your accommodation, you can find your Operations Team in the ResLife Building Reception located one the ground floor next to Oak block. You can also email them at reslifeops@bath.ac.uk.

Bedding and Linen

If you need to borrow bedding and linen you can collect this from your ResLife Building Reception. If you arrive out of hours, this can be found in your Living Lounge, located on the ground floor of Maple block, accessible from the door by the main gates or the laundrette located on the ground floor, accessible from the car park.

Welcome Events

Our ResLife Support team has a programme of events to support your transition into University life. All events are FREE and open to all students living in university halls, unless otherwise stated. You need to book a place for each activity. Events are hosted by our ResLife Ambassadors and are a great way to meet new people.

Your mail & parcel service

Your mail will be delivered to your accommodation. Your mail box is located in Maple block, near your Living Lounge. You will receive your mailbox code by email. 

For parcels and larger items, you will need to address these to Green Park House:

If you have a parcel to collect, we'll notify you through your University email account. You will need to bring the email and your library card with you when you collect your item. You can email gphmail@bath.ac.uk with any questions about parcels and mail.

You can also use the Amazon locker - Mimsi, located in Green Park House.

The laundrette

Your laundrette is located on the ground floor of Maple block, accessible from the car park. You will need to download the Circuit Plus app. You can top up your laundry credit using a debit/credit card or PayPal. You will need to bring your own washing powder or detergent.
