Congratulations on receiving an offer from the University of Bath. This exciting milestone marks the beginning of your journey with us. To ensure a smooth transition, securing your accommodation is an important next step. This guide outlines everything you need to know about applying for accommodation.
Eligibility for University Accommodation
University-managed accommodation is available to:
- First-year students enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course with a firm offer from the University of Bath.
- Students enrolled in the new full-time Foundation Degree in Sports Performance.
- Returning students with documented medical conditions or disabilities who have been assessed as eligible to apply.
- Care leavers, estranged students, refugees, and asylum seekers with a Sanctuary Scholarship.
Room Allocation Process
We offer a diverse range of on-campus and city residences specifically designed for first-year students. To guarantee a place in our managed accommodation, applications must be submitted before the deadline of 01 July 2024.
During the application process, you will be able to choose your top seven preferred room types (en-suite, standard, etc.). While we strive to match you with your highest preferences, room availability and demand may influence the final allocation.
Additional Needs Considerations
If you have a disability or diagnosed medical condition that affects your living requirements, please complete the "additional requirements form" and provide supporting documentation. This information will be taken into account during the room allocation process.
For a more detailed explanation of the allocation process, we recommend reviewing the accommodation application terms and conditions.
Accommodation Costs
Understanding the financial aspects of student life is important. We offer a variety of accommodation options to suit diverse budgets. To compare prices and explore the features of each residence, please visit our undergraduate accommodation and price comparison page.
Application Deadlines
Applications for undergraduate student accommodation open on 08 May 2024. To guarantee your place, ensure your application is submitted before the 01 July 2024 deadline.
Missed Deadlines and Alternative Options
If you miss the guaranteed accommodation deadline, receive an insurance offer, or secure a place through Clearing, you can still apply for the waiting list, which opens on 20 August 2024. While a guaranteed place cannot be promised, we will make every effort to find suitable accommodation. This may initially involve temporary shared accommodation until a permanent room becomes available.
Non-Standard Semester Dates
If you are joining the University outside the standard semester dates, please contact the ResLife Team at reslife@bath.ac.uk to inquire about the availability of university accommodation.
Submitting Your Application
Once you have received a confirmed firm offer (conditional or unconditional) from the University, you can register on the accommodation application portal. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours to access the system after confirming your firm choice with UCAS.
Before registering, you will need to gather the following:
- Your university username and password (if forgotten, access the lost password form).
- A thorough understanding of the accommodation application terms and conditions.
Following registration, the system may take up an hour to update. Once updated, you can log in and submit your application.
When you make your application, you will need to select seven accommodation building preferences, ranking them in order of highest to lowest preference.
You will also be able to select any additional preferences such as quiet, mature, alcohol-free and LGBTQ+ accommodation.
Please consider all your seven preferences very carefully, as you could be allocated any of them.
We hope this guide has provided a clear and comprehensive overview of the university accommodation application process. We look forward to welcoming you to our vibrant community.
