Your guide to Clearing

What it is and how it works at Bath

Rethinking your university or subject choice? You might want to take a look at Clearing

What is Clearing?

Clearing is a way for universities to fill any spaces they still have available on their courses for the upcoming academic year. And it's how you can still land a place at university if you didn't get an offer, didn't meet your conditions or are applying late.

It's surprisingly easy to apply through Clearing, watch our handy how-to guide to find out all of the key information:

Can I apply?

You can apply through Clearing if:

  • You have got the qualifications needed to meet our entry requirements
  • Your current results meet our entry requirements (we can't consider potential remarks or grades being appealed)
  • You do not hold a place elsewhere

Clearing is now open and closes on the 20th October 2025. Interested? Take a look at our available courses for international applicants and UK home applicants

What happens if I'm offered a place?

If you're offered a place through Clearing, you can apply for campus or city centre University accommodation from 20 August 2025. We guarantee accommodation within University buildings or with one of our chosen partners for all Clearing students that apply by the 22nd August, so it's important you apply as soon as possible. You will need a University of Bath login to be able to access the portal.

If you apply after this date, we cannot guarantee accommodation but will try out best to allocate you into a room.
