It’s all about quick conversations but lasting connections at our Speed Friending event this welcome week. Join us for a fast-paced, fun-filled event where you’ll meet new people, share laughs, and maybe even find your next bestie. It’s the more the merrier at this open event!
With icebreakers at the ready, ResLife Ambassadors will guide you through quick 5-minute meets designed to help you get to know new people and find your tribe - it’s like speed dating, but for friendships.
Come for the conversations, stay for the connections, and leave with a few more friends than you came with.
Ready, set, friend!
RLAs will be ready at The Polden Common Room to welcome you when you arrive. Don’t worry if you’ve never been to a speed-dating style event before, they’ll explain how everything works and make sure you’re comfortable before you get started.
You will have timed 5-minute conversations with every attendee, with icebreakers available to help you get started and skip the awkward small talk. Don’t worry if you don’t make connections with everyone, just be yourself and enjoy the fun.
The space may get loud when everyone is talking or when timers go off. If at any point you need a break or to find a quieter space, let one of our RLA's know and they will be happy to help.
Plus, what’s an event without snacks? We’ll have drinks and refreshments for you to enjoy while you get to know everyone.
Polden Common Room is located on the ground floor of Polden B Block, just along from the West Accommodation Centre. The room is fully accessible with steps free access and a range of both booth and table seats available. There are accessible toilets located on the same floor.
ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you – you’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.
