Clay your part in the kitchen!

Get your hands messy and create something useful!

Every shared kitchen needs somewhere to put down a saucy spoon. This week at Craft + Cuppa, we're making spoon rests from air dry clay: a handy spot for your spatula that catches the drips and adds a bit of personality to your hob.

Shape it, carve it, add a pattern or your initials. There's no right way to do it and no crafting experience needed. We'll provide the clay, tools and a hot drink. You just bring yourself.

Come on your own or bring your flatmates. Our ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you, share ideas and help if you get stuck.

Polden Common Room is on the ground floor of Polden B Block, just along from the West Accommodation Centre.

The room is fully accessible with step-free access and a range of booth and table seating. There are accessible toilets on the same floor.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You'll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

Craft + Cuppa is a relaxed, drop-in session. There's no formal start or end, so arrive when it suits you and stay for as long (or as little) as you like.

When you arrive, our RLAs will get you set up with clay and tools and show you the basics. Not sure what to make? There will be inspiration photos to help you get started.

There's no official icebreaker. You can chat with other students while you make, or keep to yourself if that's more your vibe.

Clay can get a little messy, so wear something you don't mind getting dusty.

Hot drinks will be available throughout. Help us make this a sustainable event by bringing your own mug.

Air dry clay takes a day or two to harden, so you'll take your spoon rest home to finish drying.

The space may get busier and chattier at times. If you need a quieter spot or a break, just let one of our RLAs know and they'll be happy to help.
