Your guide to dietary options on campus

Food and drink for halal, vegan, and vegetarian diets.

We try our best to provide different options in our campus outlets so that you can find food and drink suitable for halal, vegan, and vegetarian diets. Keep reading to find out all you need to know about food preferences and dietary requirements in campus outlets.

Halal food and drink

We have halal food and drink options across all of our campus food and drink outlets. Items marked with 'H' are made with ingredients certified through the halal authorities.

In our hospitality outlets, all of our raw chicken arrives on campus in vacuum packed bags clearly labelled as halal. We have strict procedures in place to ensure that all halal certified meats we receive are stored, processed, handled, and served in a controlled manner.

  • The raw meat used in our 'H' menu options is only from certified halal sources which slaughter pre-stunned animals in adherence with Islamic law.
  • We keep copies of each of our suppliers' certifications - you can ask our staff in you want to see these.

Any halal pre-packaged food will be clearly marked as halal. In the Market, we have a dedicated range of halal sandwiches (look out for the black packaging) and all of the 'Simply' lunch range containing chicken are halal.

Vegan and vegetarian food and drink

We offer a range of food and drink suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets across our food and drink outlets on campus.

  • Items made with vegan ingredients are labelled (Ve).
  • Items made with vegetarian ingredients are labelled (V).

While most of our kitchens prepare food or drink with non-vegetarian ingredients, we have strict cleaning and disinfection processes in place to manage the risk of cross contamination and maintain food safety controls.
