Say hello to spring! It's finally getting warm enough to pack a picnic and sit outside with mates - the perfect way to unwind as it gets closer to exam season.
Here are our top spots around Bath for your first picnic of the year:
1. Parade Gardens
You can't really beat the peaceful sound of the river flowing by when enjoying some good picnic snacks. This beautiful park is in the heart of the city, with stunning views of Pulteney Bridge.
📍Grand Parade, Bath, BA2 4DF
2. Bath Skyline
If you want to escape the city's hustle and bustle, then Bath Skyline is ideal. Only a couple of miles out of the centre with an easy commute, it gives you a real countryside feel and most impressively, offers lovely panoramic views across Bath.
The 'top spot' would be Bathwick Fields, which is a beautiful wildflower meadow where you can see all the best sights.
📍 Sydney Pl, Bathwick, Bath BA2 4DB
3. Alexandra Park
If you look to the South of Bath city centre, you'll see a woodland hillside rising just beyond the river (sounds magical, right?). This is Alexandra Park, a beautiful, quiet green space with many trees and magnificent views over the city - what could be a better spot to snack on some picky bits and watch the world go by?
📍Shakespeare Avenue, Bath, BA2 4PS
4. Bath Boating Station
A little different from your average picnic - swap out the green grass for a boat ride. The Boating Station offers Rowing for hire for 1 hour (£10pp). It's more of a treat, but if you don't mind paying a little extra on top of your picnic, it's a great experience.
So much wildlife can be found on the River Avon, including kingfishers, herons and moorhens, and if you're really lucky, you may spot an otter!
📍Bath Boating Station, Forrester Road, Bath, BA2 6QE
Grab your picnic baskets, soak up some sun and take a break from busy student life ☀️
