Pack a snack, grab a friend and enjoy the view.

Pack your snacks and join us for a laid‑back afternoon picnic at Sham Castle, one of Bath’s most iconic viewpoints! We’ll take in the incredible skyline, enjoy some fresh air, and relax on the grass with good company and good vibes.

Whether you bring a full picnic spread or just a drink and a blanket, it’s the perfect chance to unwind, meet new people, and make the most of the spring sunshine. Expect stunning views, easy chat, and a cosy outdoor hangout with fellow students.

Come along, soak up the scenery, and spend a lovely, easy going afternoon above the city.

Our ResLife Ambassadors will meet you outside the campus library. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.

The library is on the Parade and is a three minute away from the bus arrivals square. There are toilets availible in the library in case you need them before the walk begins.

Our Reslife Ambassadors will meet you outside the Campus library and will walk you to Sham Castle. They will be there from 12:50pm.The group will leave the library at 1:10pm, so please be sure you are ready to leave and have joined the group by this time.

Don’t worry if you’re coming on your own, ResLife Ambassadors will be there to introduce you to other students and get you set with everything you’ll need to join in.

We’ll provide all the materials you need, including a variety of great games for you to choose from, different tasty drink and snack options and great company!

You can expect a fun relaxed afternoon where you can play games, meet new people and enjoy the sights of bath.

There is no structured break during this event, but you are welcome to leave and re-join at any point. The session runs for around 2 hours. The event officially ends at 5pm but you can leave when you like.
