Make a statement: tote or tea towel

Print it your way for International Woman's Day.

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to design your own tote bag or tea towel, the choice is yours! Bring along an image you love (we can print it for you!) or choose from our collection of bold, inspiring designs. You’ll learn how to turn your chosen image into a unique paint‑printed piece you can use, gift, or proudly show off.

No experience? No problem! We’ll provide all the materials, guide you through each step, and help you discover a new craft in a relaxed, supportive space. It’s a brilliant chance to try something different, express yourself, and celebrate the creativity and stories of women around the world.

Come for the crafting, stay for the vibes, the learning, and the joy of walking away with a tote bag or tea towel that’s completely and uniquely yours.

ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in the Claverton Rooms. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.

Claverton Rooms is on the second floor of 2 West. Use the lift from The Parade to get to the venue. This is next to the rear entrance of Parade. There are several microwaves and a water fountain available for anyone using the space.

At this event you will be learning how to paint printing onto tote bags and tea towels. You are welcome to bring your own printed out picture, ask for us to print it out or use one of the designs provided by us.

Don't worry if you have no experience in this craft, ResLife Ambassadors and ResLife staff member Louise will be there to assist you.

You can stay for as long (or as little) as you like. You are welcome to socialise to other students or just get on quietly with your design, it's up to you. There will be some unstructured time while waiting for people to arrive which gives you the chance to introduce yourself, meet new people if you want to, and settle in. If you need some help with this, for example, if you arrive on your own, our ResLife Ambassadors will happily help introduce you or find a seat on a table.

There is no structured break during this event, but you are welcome to leave and re-join at any point. The session runs for around 2 hours, but you can leave at any point, and you’ll be able to take your creation home with you.

Refreshments such as snacks and cold drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring your own food and drink.
