Your new space to relax, connect and belong
Welcome to your new favourite hangout
Looking for the place to be on campus? Our new Polden Common Room space is open for business, and you’re invited to our welcome event!
Meet your ResLife Ambassadors, get to know other students living nearby, and see what this new social space has to offer. There'll be games to play, prizes to win, snacks to enjoy, and plenty of opportunities to get involved.
RLA’s will be there to welcome you, answer any questions you might have about life in halls or are new space, and help everyone enjoy the event in their own way.
Whether you come along with your flatmates or arrive solo, it's a relaxed chance to meet some friendly faces and discover a space that could soon become your go-to spot.
Come say hello, explore the space and make yourself at home!
Polden Common Room is located on the ground floor of Polden B Block, just along from the West Accommodation Centre. The room is fully accessible with steps free access and a range of both booth and table seats available. There are accessible toilets located on the same floor.
ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you – you’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.
The Common Room Welcome is a relaxed opportunity to explore the new Polden Common Room Space and meet some of the people you'll be living alongside. You can take a look around the space, play some games, and join in with activities, with prizes available throughout the event.
The room may become busy and noisy at times as students chat and take part in games, but there's no pressure to join in with everything. You're welcome to explore the space and enjoy the event at your own pace. Plus, the Commons is a large space with plenty or areas if you need to find somewhere quieter at any point.
Our ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you, answer any questions and help introduce you to other students if you'd like. They can also help you get familiar with the new space and make sure you can enjoy the event in a way that feels comfortable for you. If at any point you need support, they will be more than happy to help.
Snacks will also be provided with allergens clearly labelled.
