Wear your flat pride!

Got an inside joke that's already become a flat classic? A motto that perfectly sums up your new housemates? Or maybe you just fancy getting creative during Freshers' Week? Flat Badge Making is the place to be!

Come along on your own, bring your friends or gather your whole flat and design your very own badges to decorate your bags, jackets and anything else you want to add a little personality to throughout the year.

Whether your design is funny, colourful, meaningful or completely random, all ideas are welcome – and you don't need to be an artistic genius to join in. It's a relaxed chance to get creative, have a chat and meet some new faces.

Our ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you, get to know you and help everyone feel at home. They're also on hand to answer any questions you might have about life in halls, so feel free to say hi!

This event will be held in John Wood living lounge, through the main entrance and next to the reception. There is a range of seating available, including booth seats and sofas.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

Flat Badge Making is a relaxed, creative session where you can design and make your own badges at your own pace. You can come along with your flatmates or friends or arrive on your own – there's no pressure to already know people or to be particularly creative!

The event will involve chatting and working alongside other students, so the space may become busier and noisier at times. You're welcome to focus on your own creations, join in with conversations or take part in as much of the social side as feels comfortable for you. John Wood has a large social space, so RLAs will be happy to help you find a quieter space if needed at any point during the event.

Our ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you, answer any questions and help you get started if you're unsure what to do. They can also introduce you to other students if you'd like to meet new people, and will be on hand to help everyone enjoy the event in their own way.
