If you're checking this out, chances are you're either thinking about making Eastwood Green the one for your first year or you've already locked in your move here for September. No matter where you stand, it's a smart move to learn as much as you can about what the rooms are like at the accommodation. That way, you'll be all set to make your stay as amazing as possible.
Ella's experience
Not long ago, there was a student who was in the same boat, trying to figure out where to stay and eventually landed on Eastwood Green, being one of the cheaper options at Bath. Check out the video above as Ella gives useful insight into how she set up her single bedroom. She basically lays out exactly how you can spruce up your room and make it your own with just a handful of easy tweaks/additions.
In Ella's instance, she was surprised about how much space there was, given the room is part of a shared bathroom and kitchen arrangement. She still made the most of what she had by investing in ways to add more storage. Under bed baskets or boxes can make, what is usually an unused area, useful and organised. Add over door hooks for bags and coats and suddenly your room can store as much as you want.
The key to a smooth moving-in experience, is to consider how you can make your situation feel like home. Most rooms at Eastwood Green are similar with the same bed, ensuite and desk set up, but all rooms will need to be treated like a blank canvas you can make into your own.
Think about what stuff you need that can fit in your room and make you feel happy living there. Fairy lights, maybe? Or photos for your pinboard? There are many possibilities but before you move, start to think of how you can turn your room into what you want.
Hopefully Ella's experience will help you make the right decisions but if you want to know more, you can always email reslife@bath.ac.uk who are always happy to help.
