A healthy social life is super important but can be overwhelming to navigate when transitioning to University. My name is Sweet (They/Them) and here is a brief outline of various queer-specific social events that occur at both the University as well as the City.
LGBTQ+ socials
The university has an LGBTQ+ support group that meets weekly. It’s free and led exclusively by students from the community. This is a welcoming group for every section of the community as well as those who are questioning and want to talk about it. Come and see how it is for yourself with as much or as little involvement and commitment!
There are meetings run specifically for Trans or questioning students known as T-time. This is usually well attended by both new and consistent members. It welcomes discussions of various gender identities and related issues and concerns. To join their official group chat or if there are any additional questions, you can contact lgbt@bath.ac.uk, or su-transgender@bath.ac.uk. You can find out more on Instagram and on the SU website.
Celebrations and city life
The University also celebrates pride month with drag performances, queer-centred stalls, free rainbow items and so much more!
Regarding city life, people often go to Komedia for its drag nights!
