Scala Building: Perfect for those seeking a close-knit
community, Scala Building provides accommodation for 16 postgraduate students.
Located directly above the local Coop shop, it offers a blend of convenience
and comfort. Choose from ensuite bedrooms sharing kitchen facilities or enjoy
the privacy of your own studio room with a kitchenette and bathroom.
Scala Court: Situated right next to the Coop, Scala Court is
ideal for those who thrive in a larger student environment. With accommodation
for 72 postgraduate students, Scala Court offers a vibrant atmosphere while
still providing the comfort of ensuite bedrooms and shared kitchen spaces.
Studio flats have: Standard Single bed (183cm x 91cm)
Ensuite rooms have: Small Double bed (190cm x 122cm)
Will there be bedding?
All rooms will have a mattress
and mattress protector ready for you but you need to decide what you want to do
about your bedding. You'll need:

Want
to skip the pre-move packing? We offer these items for purchase through our
online store before you arrive, so they'll be waiting for you in your room (be
sure to check out the terms and conditions).
Need
a temporary solution? You can loan bedding (duvet and pillow) when you
arrive. If you borrow a set from your ResLife Ops Team you can make use
of the laundry exchange scheme - swapping your linen each week for a fresh
set.

Are there laundrette facilities at Scala?
Scala Building: Enjoy the convenience of having
your own washing machine in your studio flat kitchen, or head to the
drying room located by the Scala Court entrance.
Scala Court: No need to haul laundry far.
Residents have access to washing machines and a drying room located right
in Scala Court.
Can I bring my own TV?
We know how important it is to stay entertained, so
all our rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, perfect for streaming. Since there are
no traditional aerial points, you'll want to use a smart TV or connect a device
to enjoy all the online entertainment options.
Heads up! Don't forget toobtain your own TV license, which you can do online. You can easily get one online before you move
in.
It's a 25 minute cycle to campus, and there is secure bike storage available at Scala. Please complete the bike registration form to be provided access.
How do I recycle my waste?
Doing
your part for the environment is simple at Scala. Here’s what you need to know:
You have bins that
are for your recycling in your kitchens. These can then be taken to the main
waste and recycling compound located to the right of the Scala Court entrance.
Paper, cardboard, glass, cans, tins and plastic bottles can all be recycled.
There are several bus stops located on the adjacent roads to Scala. You will need to get the City bus and then change at the bus station for the U1 to campus.
