A week with Bath Go

The deals, discounts and savings

Over the past several days, I used the Bath Go app for all of my on-campus food and drink purchases to understand how much a typical student can realistically save. What stood out most was that Bath Go creates value gradually through loyalty points, exclusive app-only offers, and small discounts that accumulate over time. Individually these benefits may seem minor, but combined they resulted in noticeable savings over just a few days.

Loyalty points earned on everyday purchases

Each time I scanned the BathGo QR code, I earned three loyalty points per £1 spent, with each point worth 1p. My routine campus purchases included:

● A morning coffee from 4W Café

● Lunch from Fountain Canteen

● An afternoon drink from Sports Café

Without doing anything beyond scanning the QR, I accumulated enough points in two days to reduce the cost of a pastry the following morning. This made everyday purchases feel more rewarding, and I found it required no additional effort on my part.

Exclusive vouchers and promotions

The most significant savings came from the voucher section within the app. Bath Go regularly updates its promotional offers, which are only visible in the app and not displayed at tills.

During my use, I redeemed:

  • A discount on hot drinks
  • A voucher for a reduced-price pastry
  • A lunchtime offer

These vouchers alone saved approximately £2.50–£3, simply by purchasing items I already intended to buy. Because the vouchers are applied at the point of purchase, they made the process straightforward and automatic.

Redeeming points for free items

After accumulating points through normal spending, I was able to use them to partially cover the cost of one of my drinks, and later to redeem a pastry at no additional charge. This reinforced the feeling that the app rewards regular campus spending without requiring any special planning.

Estimated savings over a few days

Across several days of normal purchasing habits, my estimated savings were:

  • Loyalty points redeemed: £0.40
  • Vouchers and promotional discounts: £2.50-£3
  • Free pastry and reduced drink: £2.75
  • Additional drink promotion: £1.50

Total estimated savings: approximately £6–£7

These savings came entirely from purchases I would have made regardless of using the app.

My short experience demonstrated that Bath Go offers students genuine value through incremental savings. By combining loyalty points, app-exclusive vouchers, and simple redemption options, Bath Go helped reduce the overall cost of my campus meals without requiring any change in spending habits.

For students who buy food or drinks on campus even a couple of times a week, the app provides a practical way to make everyday purchases more affordable, so make sure you download the Bath Go app.
