5 reasons to use a reusable cup

Sip smarter

Using a reusable cup is one of the simplest (and coolest) good habits to pick up as a student, perfect for your daily caffeine fix!

They have so many benefits that go unnoticed, including:

Reducing your waste

Did you know that UK consumers are the second biggest users per person of single-use drinks cups?

Single-use and disposable cups are either difficult or impossible to recycle, which is why more people need to start using reusable cups. As a student, think about how many single-use cups you would use during the year - it's definitely worth the swap.

Helping you save money

If you're a regular coffee drinker, there are a couple of ways you can save the pennies with a reusable cup.

  1. Get discounts at coffee shops when you bring your own reusable cup.
  2. Make your cuppa at home and take it on the go.

Even though these may seem small at the time, you'll be shocked at just how much you can save throughout the year.

Making your drinks last longer

Reusable coffee cups are designed to keep your drinks hot or cold for longer, unlike single-use coffee cups that are typically made from paper or plastic and don't provide much insulation.

So whether you're craving a steaming cappuccino or iced latte, reusable cups will help your drinks stay just as you ordered it for much longer.

Keeping you fuelled on the go

Want a brew on the way to uni or need a pick me up on the way home? Choose to make a coffee before you set off and bring it with you, or grab a cuppa from our cafés and take one for the road using a reusable cup. Talk about convenient!

Lasting you years

The lifespan of a reusable cup can be anywhere from 3-10 years! Durable, reliable and designed to last, it should last you your entire student life. Not only does this save you a lot of money in the long run but also has a big positive impact on the planet.

The Exchange scheme 🥤

To make it even easier for you to use a reusable cup, we have removed disposable cups on campus. Instead, you can buy a travel cup from our cafés for just £3 using the Exchange scheme.

You can also switch your Exchange cup for a token when you don't want to carry it around, and pick up a new one on your next visit.
