Framing magnet-worthy moments for Mother’s Day

Celebrate Mother’s Day and those you care about with creativity, colour, and a personal touch at our Fridge Frame Making Event with ResLife Ambassadors.

At this relaxed and light-hearted session, you’ll decorate your own frame using fabric trims, ribbons, buttons, and other fun embellishments before transforming it into a fridge magnet. Add a favourite photo, a meaningful quote, or leave space for a special memory — it’s completely up to you.

This event is about celebrating any maternal figure in your life; mums, grandmothers, aunties, older siblings, guardians, mentors, or anyone who has supported and cared for you in a nurturing way. Whether you’re creating a heartfelt gift for a special person or making something special for your own fridge, it’s a chance to show appreciation in a thoughtful, handmade way.

No crafting experience needed, just bring your creativity, care, and come ready to have some fun!

This event will be held in Aquila Court social space, through the main entrance and next to the reception. There is an accessible toilet on the same floor and range of seating available, including both seats and sofas.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

This is a welcoming, calm and comfortable event for anyone to get involved with. The session will take place in a relaxed, low-pressure environment where you can work at your own pace. There’s no expectation to socialise if you don’t want to, you’re welcome to come with friends, sit quietly, or focus independently on your design.

RLAs will be on hand to welcome you and help you get started. Instructions will be provided both verbally and in written form, to help everyone get the basics down in a way that works best for them. You’re free to follow the examples or create something completely your own.

There’s no time pressure, no competition, and no right or wrong way to design your frame. Our goal is to create a supportive, flexible space where you can enjoy being creative while celebrating a maternal figure in your life in a way that feels comfortable for you.

If you prefer to wear headphones or take short breaks, that’s absolutely fine. Please feel free to ask an RLA and they can help find a space for anyone who needs a moment away from the main crafting area.
