It's time to get tote-ally creative
It's time to chill out, get creative and design a tote bag you'll actually want to carry around campus.
You don't need to be an artist. Whether painting is your passion or something you haven't done in a while, this is a fun, low-key way to de-stress, hang out with your friends, and walk away with something cool and useful!
We've got all the supplies ready for you, all you need is your creativity! Feel like painting your favourite meme? Go for it. Aesthetic patterns? We love it. Something totally random? Even better.
So grab a seat and let's get painting!
At this event, you're invited to paint your own tote bag. If you get stuck for ideas, there will be inspiration photos available or you are welcome to look on your phone for ideas. Our ResLife ambassador Kamal will be available to help you if needed.
At the start of the event, there will be some unstructured time while waiting for people to arrive which gives you the chance to introduce yourself, meet new people if you want to, and settle in. If you need some help with this, for example, if you arrive on your own, Kamal will happily help introduce you or find a seat on a table.
During the event you can chat while you paint, but the level of focus you put in is completely up to you and to what feels most comfortable.
There is no structured break during this event but you are welcome to leave and re-join at any point. The session runs for around 2 hours, but you can leave at any point and you’ll be able to take your tote bag home with you.
Refreshments such as snacks and cold drinks will be provided. Feel free to also bring your own food and drink.
ResLife Ambassador Kamal will be ready to meet you in the John Wood Social Space for the event start at 5pm. You’ll be able to recognise him wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.
The space is fully accessible with automatic doors and accessible toilets on the ground floor.
If you prefer to arrive earlier, there is plenty of seating available in the social space, and Kamal will be setting up the materials up to 15 minutes before the start of the event.
Don't worry if you arrive after the event has started, you can find Kamal who will help you with materials, somewhere to sit and help you get started.
