Spend a summer day exploring

A summer afternoon with views and history.

Join us for a trip to the American Museum & Gardens and discover one of Bath’s most charming hidden spots.

We’ll set off together from the School of Management area and take a short journey to this unique destination, where you’ll find fascinating exhibitions, vibrant glimpses of American history, and beautifully kept gardens with stunning views across the countryside. It’s the perfect chance to get outside, soak up some sunshine, and explore somewhere new at your own pace. Think grand historic interiors, vintage fashion, folk art, and plenty of peaceful green space to wander.

Expect fresh air, good company, and a laid-back atmosphere as you make your way through the museum and gardens. Whether you're there for the views, the culture, or just a change of scenery, it’s a great way to spend a summer day.

So come along, take a break from the everyday, and enjoy a little escape just beyond the city. You might just discover a new favourite place.

Our ResLife Ambassadors will meet you outside the School of Management Building. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on. From there we will walk to the American Museum and Gardens.

ResLife Ambassador Asia will meet you outside the School of Management Building, then it is an 18 minute walk to the American Museum and Gardens.

All of the Museum buildings are wheelchair accessible (ramps in some places) and a lift is fitted within the main Museum building. The gardens are also accessible. However the American Museum and Gardens does not allow mobility scooters and very large electric wheelchairs due to narrow (70cm) internal doorways. There are also toilets available by the Deli and Exhibition Gallery.

There will be some unstructured time at this event while you are waiting for people to arrive which gives you the chance to introduce yourself, meet new people if you want to, and settle in. If you need some help with this, for example, if you arrive on your own, our ResLife Ambassador Asia will happily help introduce you to others.

While you are at the American Museum, you are welcome to go round as a group or by yourself.
