Your creations, your magazine

Help make the ResLife magazine

The ResLife magazine is taking shape, and we want your ideas in it. Fresh Off The Press is coming to Polden Common Room, so grab a seat and help us create something made entirely by residents.

Whether you love to write, draw, collage or craft, or you just have opinions you'd like to share, there's space for you on the pages. Pen a short article, share your best halls hack or create some artwork. Big or small, every contribution counts.

If you came along to our session at Aquila Court, this is a chance to keep working on your piece or start something new. If you're joining us for the first time, our ResLife Ambassadors will get you up to speed and share plenty of ideas to get you going.

No experience needed, and all materials are provided. Just bring your ideas and your imagination.

Get creative, get published.

Polden Common Room is on the ground floor of Polden B Block, next to the Polden Cafe and just along from the West Accommodation Centre.

The room is fully accessible with step-free access and a range of booth and table seating. There are accessible toilets on the same floor.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You'll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

You can find out more about Polden Common Room here.

You're welcome to arrive at any time during the event and stay for as long as you like.

RLAs will explain how the newspaper works and share some ideas to get you started. You can work on your own piece or team up with others.

There's no pressure to finish anything on the night. Contribute as much or as little as you like.

If you need a quieter spot or a break, just let one of our RLAs know and they'll be happy to help.

If you would like to attend more events like this one, make sure to check the ResLife Events page regularly for our latest updates.

For more ways to connect, you can see events hosted by the SU here, as well as information on societies and how you can join.

Please note:

We have photographers and film-makers at some of our events to capture footage to share online and for use in future promotional materials. If you don't want to be featured, please inform a member of the ResLife Team.
