A Creative & Comforting Trans Awareness Week Event

Pizza, pride, and painting

Join us for a relaxed, creative evening celebrating Trans Awareness Week with food, crafts and community. This is a welcoming space for all students — whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, an ally, or simply keen to learn and support.

As you arrive, you’ll be greeted with free pizza and a cosy craft setup where you can explore painting, crochet, badge-making, and more craft activities inspired by LGBTQ+ and trans pride themes. No experience is needed, and you’re free to move between craft stations, try something new, or stick with whatever feels most comfortable.

The atmosphere will be friendly, calm and pressure-free, giving you a chance to unwind, chat with others, or take time to create quietly at your own pace. ResLife ambassadors will be on hand to help with materials, offer guidance and answer any questions about Trans Awareness Week for those who’d like to learn more.

Come along for an evening of creativity, colour and comfort — a chance to connect, express yourself and celebrate the trans community in a supportive, positive environment. Pizza, paints and good vibes included.

Limetree is on the east end of campus across from arrivals square. It has automatic doors and fully accessible toilets on the same floor.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to greet you. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.

At this event there will be painting supplies, crochet materials, badge-making tools and a few additional simple craft options. You can move between activities at your own pace, stay with one, or just sit and observe — everything is optional.

Free pizza will be available throughout the event, and you can help yourself whenever you’re ready. The room will have a friendly but calm atmosphere, with low background noise and no expectation to join conversations unless you want to. You’re welcome to come alone or with friends, stay for ten minutes or the whole session.

ResLife Ambassadors will be nearby to offer craft help or chat about Trans Awareness Week if you’d like more information.

This event is designed to be comfortable, inclusive and flexible where you can create, relax, eat and connect in whatever way feels right for you. You’re free to take breaks, step outside, switch activities or leave whenever you would like.
