Feeling the mid-semester rush? Take a breather and join us for a relaxed evening of laughter, strategy, and friendly competition at our University Board Game Night this November! Whether you’re a master of words in Scrabble, a chessboard tactician, or just in it for the fun, there’s a seat for you at the table.

Alongside the timeless classics, we’re bringing out some fresh new games guaranteed to keep you on your toes and spark a few unexpected alliances. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet new people, reconnect with friends, and enjoy a cosy night away from lectures and deadlines.

So gather your game face (and maybe a snack or two) and come roll the dice with us. Win or lose, it’s all about the good vibes and great company. See you there!

Polden Commons is located on the ground floor of Polden B Block, next to the Polden Cafe. The room is fully accessible with steps free access and a range of both booth and table seats available. There are accessible toilets located on the same floor.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you – you’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

Board Game Night is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can unwind and have fun at your own pace. When you arrive, our student ambassadors will be there to greet you, help you find a game that suits your interests, and introduce you to others if you’d like. You’re also welcome to join in quietly, observe for a bit, or play solo-friendly games — whatever feels most comfortable for you.

There will be a wide selection of games to choose from, including well-known classics like Scrabble and Chess, as well as newer and easy-to-learn options. The atmosphere will be calm and friendly, with low-level background music and a mix of quieter and more social spaces so you can choose where you feel best.

Whether you come alone or with friends, this is a supportive, pressure-free environment designed for connection, creativity, and a bit of lighthearted fun.
