Swap your lecture notes for paint brushes

Join us for a relaxed, Bob Ross-inspired painting session. Follow a calming step-by-step tutorial and create your own peaceful landscape, happy little trees included.

No experience needed. Budding artist or first time holding a brush, it's all about having a go and enjoying the process. We'll provide all the materials. You just bring yourself.

Paint along, wind down.

The Clevelands "Compass" social space is in the courtyard of the building and is accessed by card. There is a range of seating, including sofas and stools. It is a smaller space, so it can get busy, but it's easy to step outside if you need a break. There are no toilets in the social space.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You'll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

There will be some unstructured time at the start while people arrive. If you're coming on your own, our RLAs will happily introduce you to others or find you a seat.

You'll follow a beginner-friendly painting tutorial at your own pace. RLAs will be on hand to explain and demonstrate if you get stuck.

You can chat while you paint or focus quietly, whatever feels most comfortable. If you need a quieter spot, just ask the team. There is no structured break, but you're welcome to leave and re-join at any point.

The session runs for around 2 hours and you can take your painting home with you. Snacks and hot drinks will be provided, and all allergens will be clearly labelled.

Feel free to bring your own food and drink.
