Get out and get ready to explore your Hub.

Living in the city and want to get to know your Hub? Then all-aboard the ResLife party bus and join us on a trip to Aquila Court for our Hub Connections night!

Aquila Hub is made up of 3 of our city accommodations; Scala, Thornbank Gardens, and Aquila Court. That means if you live in any of these buildings, you have access to all the communal spaces and are welcome to attend any and all events hosted in any building! To get you to grips with how it all works, and to help you meet residents outside of your own flat, our ResLife Ambassadors will be running our walking party bus – touring all the Hub buildings before ending at our event in Aquila Court.

Scala residents, you’ll be our first stop, with ResLife Ambassadors ready to greet you outside of your building in the courtyard. Don’t worry, you won’t miss them – a party bus means music, glowsticks, signs and more.

After a short walk, Thornbank accommodation will be the next stop, ready to pick up more residents and make our way to the main event.

Arriving at Aquila Court, you’ll be able to enjoy our Hub Connections night, your chance to kick back and meet new people. We’re bringing the snacks, the games, and the cozy vibes — all you need to bring is yourself.

Our city Hubs are designed so you get to widen your connections and make the most of what all our city spaces have to offer, so don’t be shy to come and join us.

Your accommodation isn’t just where you live, it’s where your community begins. So come down, get comfy, and make Aquila lounge the place to be.

Please note, the start times for this event will vary depending on your accommodation:

Scala Court – RLAs will be outside your accommodation at 7pm

Thornbank Gardens – RLAs will be outside your accommodation at 7.30pm

Aquila Court – the event will start in your social space at 7.45pm

At this event, whether you’ve arrived by our party bus or live in Aquila, you’re invited to a relaxed mixer night, where you can meet and get to know your fellow neighbours and other students living in your city accommodation Hub.

You’re welcome to arrive at any time during the event. There’s no formal start or end, so feel free to drop in when it suits you and stay for as long (or as little) as you like.

Our ambassadors will be encouraging anyone who would like to take part in some ice-breaker games to get the conversations started, including our always-popular Mingle Bingo! There’s no expectation to join in this if you don’t want to, and you are welcome to sit quietly, take a break at any time, or leave whenever you need to.

Everything will be provided so you can help yourself to a range of party snacks and drinks and have the chance to meet others in a low-pressure setting. There will also be a range of board and card games you can play with others if you would like to.

The whole event is unstructured and flexible, come and go as needed or stay the whole time.

If you need a quieter spot, just ask the team and they can help you find a nearby calm area to take a breather.

A range of snacks will be available, and allergens will be clearly labelled.

The main event will be held in Aquila Court social space, through the main entrance and next to the reception. There is an accessible toilet on the same floor and range of seating available, including both seats and sofas.

To join the walking party bus at either Scala or Thornbank Gardens, please meet ResLife ambassador outside the main entrance of your accommodation. You’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on. Plus, keep an eye on the ResLife Instagram page - the party bus will be live-posting updates so you know when they're heading to you!
