Walk together for Mental Health Awareness Week.

Just watched The Other Bennet Sister and become obsessed? Step into the world of Jane Austen this Mental Health Awareness Week by joining us for a themed walk around the beautiful streets of Bath. Led by RLAs, this relaxed group walk is a chance to get outside, stretch your legs, and enjoy the city through a literary lens.

Inspired by Jane Austen’s connection to Bath and the renewed love for her world sparked by The Other Bennet Sister, we’ll explore locations that echo the settings, themes, and social spaces of Austen’s stories. Expect gentle conversation, fresh air, and a shared appreciation for storytelling, place, and perspective.

No in‑depth Austen knowledge needed, just comfortable shoes and curiosity. Come along to walk, chat, and enjoy Bath in good company.

The starting point for this walk is outside of Bath Abbey in Bath city centre. Our ResLife Ambassadors will be there from 1pm. The group will not start the walk until 1:10pm in case of early arrivals.

ResLife Ambassadors will be waiting there to welcome you, you’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA t-shirts and hoodies with our ResLife Logo on.

This is a relaxed walk and anyone is welcome to attend. ResLife Ambassadors will guide the way and make sure the group is walking at a pace to suit everyone.

The walk will take roughly 2 hours to complete – it is classed as an ‘Easy’ walk.

We suggest you bring:

Comfortable shoes suitable for outdoors walking (such as boots or trainers)
Weather-appropriate clothing (make sure to check the forecast before you leave)
A water bottle
Snacks and any medication you may need.

This is an informal event, so you are welcome to chat and get to know others whilst you walk, or accompany quietly and take in the views – whatever suits you best.
