A bright start to the Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year comes to the Holburne
Join us for a vibrant visit to the Holburne Museum as it hosts a Lunar New Year celebration in collaboration with the Museum of East Asian Art. This special event is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Lunar New Year traditions while enjoying art, culture, and community in one of Bath’s most beautiful settings.
As part of the celebration, join the fun with a Lion Dance, hands‑on craft activities, and more, alongside the chance to explore the Holburne’s permanent collection and current exhibitions. Whether you’re familiar with Lunar New Year or experiencing it for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Step away from your routine, celebrate Lunar New Year, and enjoy an inspiring cultural recharge with our ResLife Ambassadors at the Holburne Museum.
ResLife Ambassadors will meet you outside of the Holburne Museum. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.
The Holburne Museum has level access to their front door which opens and closes automatically. There is a lift to all floors. There are public toilets which are wheelchair accessible.
The event will start at 2pm but RLA's will be outside the Holburne Museum ten minutes before the event start time to greet you.
There will be some unstructured time while waiting for people to arrive which gives you the chance to introduce yourself, meet new people if you want to, and settle in. There is no structured break during this event, but you are welcome to leave and re-join at any point.
The session runs for around 2 hours, but you can leave at any point.
You are welcome to go round and take part in the Lunar New Year activities by yourself or in a group with the ResLife Ambassadors.
