A stitch-uation worth getting into

Let's get this stitch started

Come along to a chilled craft evening and learn the basics of embroidery in a relaxed, welcoming space. Whether you’ve never threaded a needle before or you’ve tried stitching once or twice, this session is all about giving it a go and having fun.

You’ll be guided through simple embroidery stitches and techniques, with everything you need provided. Take a break from screens and studying, slow things down, and enjoy some mindful making as you stitch your own design to take home.

No experience needed, no pressure to be perfect — just a friendly evening of creativity, chatting, and trying something new. Come solo or bring a friend and get stitching.

ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in the John Wood Social Space. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.

The space is fully accessible with automatic doors and accessible toilets on the ground floor. If you prefer to arrive earlier, there is plenty of seating available in the social space.

Our ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in the John Wood Social Space.

You’re welcome to arrive at any time during the event. There’s no formal start or end, so feel free to drop in when it suits you and stay for as long (or as little) as you like.

There will be some unstructured time while waiting for people to arrive which gives you the chance to introduce yourself, meet new people if you want to, and settle in. If you need some help with this, for example, if you arrive on your own, our ResLife Ambassadors will happily help introduce you or find a seat on a table.

There is no structured break during this event, but you are welcome to leave and re-join at any point. The session runs for around 2 hours, but you can leave at any point, and you’ll be able to take your creation home with you. All materials will be provided for you. All you need to bring is yourself.

Refreshments such as snacks and cold drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring your own food and drink.
