Let’s get growing
Unearth the joy of gardening
Come and join the landscaping team for a relaxed and rewarding afternoon in the Community Garden. Whether you're a pro gardener or just curious about how it all works, this is your chance to learn more about the plants we're cultivating, how to care for them, and get involved with a bit of satisfying weeding.
You'll get hands-on experience, fresh air, and the chance to connect with others who are out to enjoy some time in nature. If you fancy a fun and refreshing way to spend an afternoon while learning something new, this is the event for you!
Open to all PG students, make sure to book your ticket below – we’ll see you in the garden!
At this event, you’re invited to spend time in the Community Garden on campus, learning about the vegetables that are growing, how to care for them, and help with some weeding. It’s an opportunity to learn about gardening from our Landscape team, and to enjoy some time outside getting your hands dirty.
The Landscape team will be there throughout the event to show you what to do, and all tools will be provided. Biscuits will also be provided, but please make sure to bring your own drinks to keep hydrated and wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
This event will host a small group of 6-8 people including staff, and you will work at a steady pace with small breaks encouraged. There will be a scheduled break midway through the event (please note that the nearest toilets are located in 10W). The garden itself is a lovely quiet location and you are welcome to sit and enjoy the space at any point.
Taking place in the Community Garden at the south of campus, members of the Landscape team will meet you at the entrance to the Medical Centre. You’ll be able to recognise them in their green uniform.
The event starts at 1pm, but staff will check the meeting point regularly if you arrive a bit later. Introductions will be made at the start of the event, and the team will check that you have bought water, sensible shoes and are wearing clothes suitable for being outside before you begin.
If you would like to attend more events like this one, make sure to check the ResLife Events page regularly for our latest updates and to see more of our summer activities.
For more way to connect, you can see events hosted by the SU here, as well as information on societies and how you can join.
Please note:
We have photographers and film makers at some of our events to capture footage to share online and for use in future promotional materials. If you don't want to be featured, please inform a member of the ResLife Team.
