The Festival of Lights at Green Park House

A night to shine, create and connect

Get ready to light up the night as the ResLife Team invites you to a sparkling Diwali celebration at Green Park House. Join us in the outside space for an evening filled with colour, creativity, and community spirit.

We’ll be making beautiful Rangoli designs with dyed rice, sharing delicious snacks and drinks, and lighting sparklers to bring the true magic of Diwali to life. Whether you’re celebrating Diwali for the first time or it’s a familiar tradition, everyone is welcome to join in and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Feel free to come dressed in traditional clothing if you’d like — the more colour, the better! If you’ve decorated a Diya at one of our earlier events, bring it along and we’ll include it as part of our glowing Rangoli display.

So come along, dress up, get creative, and enjoy great company as we celebrate the Festival of Lights together at Green Park House. Let’s make the night shine with laughter, colour, and connection.

Green Park Living Lounge is located on the ground floor of the building, just right of the main entrance and across from the reception.

The lounge is accessible with an automatic door and a sloped entrance for wheelchair users. There are a range of seats in the lounge including table seats, sofas, and high seats. There is lots of natural light from the multiple windows along the length of the lounge.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you – you’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

This is a welcoming event where students can come together to celebrate Diwali. ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you and show you how you can take part.

We will be making traditional Rangoli designs outside on the floor using dyed rice, as well as lighting sparklers and enjoying some tasty snacks and drinks.

The whole event is unstructured and flexible, come and go as needed or stay the whole time.

If you need a quieter spot, just ask the team and they can help you find a nearby calm area to take a breather.
