Celebrate Dussehra with us

Celebrate the vibrant festival of Dussehra with a joyful evening of sweet making at John Wood. We'll be making coconut ladoos, a much-loved traditional Indian treat that's simple to make, delicious to eat and full of festive charm.

Dussehra marks the victory of good over evil, and this workshop is a chance to honour that spirit through creativity, community and, of course, something sweet. Roll your ladoos and enjoy them with us on the night, or decorate your own box to take them home and share with friends.

This event is open to everyone. Whether you celebrate Dussehra every year or you're curious to learn about a festival that's new to you, you'll be very welcome. There's no cooking involved and no experience needed, just bring yourself and an appetite.

Let's celebrate tradition, one ladoo at a time.

ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in the John Wood Social Space. The space is fully accessible with automatic doors and accessible toilets on the ground floor. There is plenty of seating available.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You'll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

There will be some unstructured time at the start while people arrive. If you're coming on your own, our RLAs will happily introduce you to others or find you a seat. RLAs will show you how to make coconut ladoos step by step.

There's no cooking required, and all ingredients and equipment will be provided. Once your ladoos are made, you can enjoy them at the event or decorate a box to take them home.

All allergens will be clearly labelled. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, let a member of the team know on arrival and we'll be happy to help.

There is no structured break, but you're welcome to leave and re-join at any point.
