Celebrate the season with food and friends

Come together with ResLife and fellow students for a cosy, festive Thanksgiving Potluck! Bring a dish to share. It can be homemade or store-bought. Something traditional or something special to you. Let's enjoy an evening of good food, great company, and heartfelt connection!

Whether you're celebrating Thanksgiving for the first time or it's a cherished tradition, this event is all about community, gratitude, and sharing stories over a delicious meal.

Expect warm vibes, tasty bites, and a chance to meet new people.

So let's eat, laugh and give thanks together!

ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in Polden Commons. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.

Polden Commons is located on the ground floor of Polden B Block, next to the Polden Cafe. The room is fully accessible with steps free access and a range of both booth and table seats available. There are accessible toilets located on the same floor.

At this event, you’re invited to bring a dish from your culture or country, something that means something to you, whether it’s home-cooked or shop-bought.

When you arrive, you’ll be able to place your dish on a shared table with a small label (we’ll provide these) where you can write the name of the dish and any important info like ingredients or allergens (don’t worry, our staff will guide you through this).

Everyone will have a chance to try a bit of everything, and you're welcome to share the story behind your dish if you’d like to. There’s no pressure to speak in front of a group, just relaxed, friendly conversations as people mingle and chat.

Don’t worry if you don’t bring a dish—you’re still very welcome to join in, try other people’s food, and enjoy the evening. There will be options for people with dietary needs, and you can always ask what’s in a dish before trying it.
