Stroll though Bath Botanical Gardens

A peaceful walk through Bath’s green heart

Join us for a calm and friendly walk around Bath Botanical Gardens, a hidden gem within Royal Victoria Park. Created in 1887 during the reign of Queen Victoria, the gardens span around nine acres and are filled with beautiful plants that thrive on Bath’s limestone soil.

As we wander, you’ll spot highlights like the peaceful pond and the Temple of Minerva, a Roman‑style structure originally built for the British Empire Exhibition in 1924. It’s a perfect chance to enjoy fresh air, gentle conversation, and a little local history in a relaxed setting.

The starting point for this walk is on campus outside of Bath Abbey.

ResLife Ambassadors will be waiting there to welcome you, you’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA t-shirts and hoodies with our ResLife Logo on.

This is a relaxed walk and anyone is welcome to attend. ResLife Ambassadors will guide the way and make sure the group is walking at a pace to suit everyone. The walk will take roughly 1 and 1/2 hours to complete – it is classed as an ‘Easy’ walk and covers roughly 1.5 miles in total.

We suggest you bring:

• Comfortable shoes suitable for outdoors walking (such as boots or trainers)

• Weather-appropriate clothing (make sure to check the forecast before you leave)

• A water bottle

• Snacks and any medication you may need.

This is an informal event, so you are welcome to chat and get to know others whilst you walk, or accompany quietly and take in the views – whatever suits you best.
