An ABBA‑solutely feel‑good evening!

Grab a paintbrush, pour yourself a drink, and get ready for a feel‑good evening packed with colour, creativity, and ABBA classics. Join us for a relaxed Paint & Sip event while we watch the ultimate summer comfort film, Mamma Mia!

Whether you’re painting a masterpiece, soaking up the soundtrack, or just enjoying the atmosphere, there’s no pressure here, this evening is all about having fun. All art supplies will be provided, so just bring yourself, your friends, and your best sing‑along energy. No painting experience needed, just good vibes, good music, and a lot of “here we go again”.

Movie Synopsis:

The twenty-year-old bride-to-be Sophie Sheridan finds in her mother's diary that the strangers Sam Carmichael, Harry Bright, or Bill Anderson might be her father. The needy Sophie dreams on having her father walking with her to the altar on her wedding with Sky in the Greek Kalokairi Island and she invites the three men to her wedding as if she were her mother Donna Sheridan. Sophie believes she will immediately recognize her father in the trio of guests. Donna owns a simple hotel in the island and used to sing with her friends Rosie Mulligan and Tanya Wilkinson, who also arrives in Kalokairi for the wedding, in their band Donna and the Dynamos. When Donna sees her former three lovers together in her hotel, she gets stressed and confused with the situation, while Sky is upset with Sophie's attitude.

ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in the Clevelands lounge. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.

The Clevelands lounge is in the courtyard. The lounge is accessible via card access and seating in the lounge. There are no toilets available in the lounge.

There’s no official icebreaker; the event is designed to be casual and relaxed. You can chat with other students whilst you paint or just take some time to reflect quietly if that’s more your vibe.

ResLife Ambassadors will be on hand to help with anything you might need. Don’t worry if you’re coming on your own, they’ll be there to introduce you to other students and get you set with everything you’ll need to join in.

We’ll provide all the materials you need, including canvases, paints and different tasty drink options for you to enjoy. The whole event is unstructured and flexible, come and go as needed or stay the whole time. If you need a quieter spot, just ask the team and they can help you find a nearby calm area to take a breather.
