This Week's movie is 'Small Axe'

It’s time to celebrate Black History Month with the John Wood Cinema Club. Come along for a night of great movies, good company and lots of snacks!

To make things extra cosy, we’ll have pillows and blankets available, plus your ResLife Ambassadors will be on hand offering warm and cold drinks, along with a tasty selection of snacks and sweets to enjoy during the film.

Whether you’re a movie buff or just looking for a comfy way to end the week, come along, settle in, and enjoy the show!

Based on a true story, the anthology series "Small Axe" celebrates little known stories of Black pride and resilience, like the Mangrove March. Learn more about what happens when even ordinary people stand up to police brutality and racial injustice to achieve something transformative with Academy Award winner Steve McQueen's latest.

The event will be held in the John Wood Social Space which is on the ground floor of John Wood Building. The room has seating available. There are toilets on the same floor.

Our ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in the John Wood Social Space.

This event is all about feeling cosy. Come in your comfiest clothes or even your pyjamas!

Feel free to bring any food and drink you would like. We will provide sweets and fizzy drinks. Allergens will be clearly labelled. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, feel free to let a member of the team know on arrival, we’re happy to help.

There is no structured break during this event, but you are welcome to leave and re-join at any point. The session runs for around 2 hours, but you can leave at any point
