Let's celebrate together

Come together for a vibrant evening celebrating Bandi Chhor Divas, the Sikh festival that celebrates freedom, compassion, and justice.

Join us with making paper garlands, inspired by the tradition of decorating with flowers and lights. As we craft together, we’ll reflect on the symbolism of liberation, light, and unity, and explore how these values connect us as a community.

Whether you're familiar with Bandi Chhor Divas or simply curious to experience something new, this is a space to get creative, connect with others, and honour the spirit of the day.

ResLife Ambassdors will meet you in Limetree. You’ll be able to recognise them wearing a light blue t-shirt or hoodie with the ResLife logo on.

The Limetree is fully accessible with seating and disabled toilets available. There are water refill stations and quiet areas in case you need a breather.

You’re welcome to arrive at any time during the event. There’s no formal start or end, so feel free to drop in when it suits you and stay for as long (or as little) as you like.

There will be some unstructured time while waiting for people to arrive which gives you the chance to introduce yourself, meet new people if you want to, and settle in. If you need some help with this, for example, if you arrive on your own, our ResLife Ambassadors will happily help introduce you or find a seat on a table.

There is no structured break during this event, but you are welcome to leave and re-join at any point. You can leave the session at any point, and you’ll be able to take your creation home with you. All materials will be provided for you. All you need to bring is yourself.
