A recipe by Ella 😋

"One of the emblematic dishes of Argentina, and a very common meal for my family. My dad would make them most weekends growing up, and now whenever I come back from uni, it is always what I have for dinner on my first night home.

My sister and I will help with breading the meat while he does the frying. We always make far too many on purpose so we can eat them cold the next day, straight out of the fridge, for breakfast or in a sandwich." Ella, Vice-Chair of the Latin American Society 25/26.

Prep time: About 45 minutes, depending on how much you're making.

Difficulty: Easy to medium

Ingredients

  • Thin Cut Beef
  • Egg
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Chimichurri spices
  • Oil (for frying)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Lime

Method

  1. Pound the beef thin and cut into steak-sized pieces.
  2. Beat a couple of eggs with salt, pepper and chimichurri spices.
  3. Dip the steaks in the egg until fully coated, then coat them in breadcrumbs (press the breadcrumbs in).
  4. Fry the breaded steaks in oil until golden brown.
  5. Serve with chips or mashed potatoes, and a lime on the side.
