Everything you need to know about living in Eastwood Terrace

Located on the east side of campus, Eastwood Terrace features bespoke outdoor social areas, including allocated laundry drying zones and BBQ spaces. The complex has 361 standard rooms across 28 townhouses, with each house shared by 11 to 13 students, fostering a homely feel and a friendly community. For your safety and comfort, Eastwood Terrace offers a secure living environment with swipe card access to buildings and flats, supported by a dedicated operations team.

In my accommodation

The size of your bed will depend on the type of room you're allocated. This will be on your room offer email. 


Standard room types have a standard single bed (183cm x 91cm).



All rooms will have a mattress and mattress protector ready for you but you need to decide what you want to do about your bedding. You'll need:


    • Duvet cover, pillow case and sheet
    • Duvet and pillow

    Want to personalise your space? Feel free to bring extra storage solutions like a shoe rack, packing cubes, and bins to keep your belongings extra organised.

    • Freezer
    • Sink


    While you might want to bring all your kitchen gadgets, remember that you'll be sharing the space with your roommates. Talk to them about buying larger items like pots and pans. This saves space for everyone.

    Here's a helpful list to get you started:


    - Cooking essentials: can opener, frying pan for quick meals, and a saucepan.
    - Tableware: plates, bowls, and cutlery for meals.
    - Cooking tools: utensils like spatula, wooden spoon, and a sieve to help you cook.
    - Food storage: cling film, aluminium foil, and freezer bag to keep your food fresh.
    - Containers: tupperware to store your snacks and leftovers.
    - Kitchen essentials: oven mitts and dishcloths to protect yourself from heat and keep the kitchen clean.

    Traveling light? No problem!

    If you can't bring everything, or your trip is long, you can order these items from our online store before you arrive.


    Top tip - Need help using your kitchen appliances? Ask your ResLife Ops Team for help or a copy of the instruction manual. 

    Wash and dry with ease! Residents have access to washing machines and tumble dryers located right in Eastwood Terrace.


    Your laundrette is located next to Eastwood Mail room. You will need to pay for your laundry using the Circuit mobile plus app. Download on Apple and Android smart-phones.

    You will have access to superfast WIFI. You will need your university username and password. Check out our guide to connecting to Wi-Fi on the University webpage. 

    There is secure bike storage available located behind the houses and are library card access.  Please complete the bike registration form to be provided access.

    Doing your part for the environment is simple at Eastwood Terrace. Here’s what you need to know:

     

    You have bins that are for your recycling in your kitchens. These can then be taken to the main waste and recycling compound located by Eastwood Mail room or next to Eastwood House 30. Paper, cardboard, glass, cans, tins and plastic bottles can all be recycled.

    You can collect your mail from a passcode-protected mailbox located in the Eastwood Mail Box Room. This is next to Eastwood Lodge, opposite the Mail Room. Your mailbox will be allocated by kitchen group. You receive your passcode with your arrival instruction.


    If you have a parcel to locate, we'll email your University email account to let you know we have it. You can collect your parcel from The Mail Room located in Eastwood Lodge. You will need to bring the email with you when you collect your item. You can either print it out or show it to us on your phone. You also need to bring photographic ID, preferably your University library card. 


    Addressing your mail or parcels: All mail and parcels for Eastwood Green will be sent to the Mail Room located in Eastwood Lodge.


    It is important that you include your name, accommodation building and room number.


    For example if you live in E11.1 and your name is Joe Bloggs you would write the address as:

    Housemates

    You will be sent a link to a Unibuddy community app. Here you will be able to join your accommodation group, and find out who you will be living with. 


    Your Unibuddy invite will be sent out to your email address before you start your course in late August.

    Local amenities & travel

    Eastwood Terrace is located on the east side of our Claverton Down campus in Bath, which is a vibrant student community, with cafes, eateries and green spaces on your doorstep. 

    The closest post office is located inside Fresh on campus, which is a two minute walk away.


    You can also use InPost and Amazon lockers to drop off and collect parcels from. 

    You can find InPost locker locations here. 


    Amazon Lockers also offer a convenient way to pick up your Amazon orders.

    The University even has its own Amazon Locker called "Boson", located just outside the exit of the Fresh supermarket. For a complete list of Amazon lockers near you visit this page.

    To get to the city centre you will need to get the U1 bus from Arrivals Square which is a 2 minute walk away from Eastwood Terrace.


    Be sure to stay informed by checking the University timetable regularly.

    The closest train station is Bath Spa which is 15 minute bus ride away on the U1 that departs directly from Arrivals Square on campus. 

    Bath City Centre is a 30 minutes walk away. Perfect for exploring shops, museums, cafes, and all the city has to offer. 

    All major supermarkets deliver to Eastwood Terrace, but the closest shop is the Fresh on campus, which is a seven minute walk away.
