Halloween is almost here, and we're celebrating in style!
Join our ResLife Ambassadors at John Wood for an evening of pumpkin decorating, Halloween vibes and a little friendly creativity.
Pick your pumpkin and bring it to life. Carve a classic jack-o'-lantern, decorate it with paint and embellishments, or do a bit of both. Go spooky with a ghostly face, keep it cute with a cheeky grin, or create something completely unexpected. There's no right or wrong design, and half the fun is seeing what everyone else comes up with.
It's the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit, take a break from your studies and meet some of the other students living in your building. Come with your flatmates, team up with your neighbours or arrive on your own and make some new friends along the way.
No artistic skills needed. We'll provide the pumpkins and all the carving and decorating materials, so all you need to bring is your imagination.
Get creative, get spooky!
ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You'll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.
There will be some unstructured time at
the start while people arrive. If you're coming on your own, our RLAs will
happily introduce you to others or find you a seat.
RLAs will get you set up with a pumpkin
and all the materials you need, and share some ideas if you're not sure where
to start. You can choose to carve your pumpkin, decorate it, or both.
If you're carving, RLAs will show you how
to use the carving tools safely before you start and will be on hand
throughout. You'll take your finished pumpkin home with you.
Pumpkin carving and decorating can get a
little messy, so wear something you don't mind getting marked.
You can chat while you work or keep to
yourself, whatever feels most comfortable. You're welcome to leave and re-join
at any point.
If you need a quieter spot or a break, just let one of our RLAs know and they'll be happy to help.
