Meet, eat, repeat

Nothing brings people together quite like good food and good company, so join us for a lunchtime BBQ in Westwood outdoor social space. This is the perfect chance to meet your fellow residents, make new friends, and settle into uni life with a plate of something tasty in hand. Whether you’re here for the sausages, the vegan burgers, or just the great vibes, there’ll be plenty to go around.

Alongside the food, you can get stuck into some outdoor games, have a laugh, and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. It’s all about community, connections, and creating those first memories with the people you’ll be living with this year.

Simple, social, and full of flavour, this BBQ is the perfect way to start feeling at home. Come hungry, bring your energy, and get ready for a fun evening of food and friendship.

Please note, this BBQ will be first come first serve, so when they’re gone, they’re gone!

Westwood Outdoor Social space is located between Cotswold and Derhill blocks, with bench seating available. The area can be accessed from the main road via paths with step-free access. You can access a map of campus here.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you - you’ll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

At this event, you’re invited to our outdoor BBQ, where RLAs and ResLife staff will be ready to welcome you.

You’ll get to enjoy a choice of either sausage or vegan burger (all allergens will be labelled) and have the chance to play some relaxed outdoor games with fellow students.

The whole event is unstructured and flexible, come and go as needed or stay the whole time.

If you need a quieter spot, just ask the team and they can help you find a nearby calm area to take a breather.

Seating is available with outdoor benches, plus we will have blankets for anyone who would like to eat picnic-style.

Please note that these BBQs are planned to host up to 60 people, so when food is gone, it’s gone.
