Make your mark with lino printing

Ever wondered how those bold, graphic prints you see on posters, cards and tote bags are made? Join RLAs and learn the art of lino printing from start to finish.

You'll start by sketching out your design, then carve it into your own lino block. Once it's ready, roll on the ink, press it down and peel back the paper to reveal your print. There's something really satisfying about seeing your design appear for the first time, and once your block is carved, you can print it again and again.

Whether you're an artist looking to try a new technique or you've never picked up a carving tool before, this workshop is for you. Our ResLife Ambassadors will guide you through each step, so no experience is needed.

At the end of the evening, you'll take home your block and your prints, ready to frame, gift or stick on your wall.

Ink it, print it, love it.

ResLife Ambassadors will meet you in the Pulteney Court social space, next to the laundrette on the ground floor. There is a toilet on the same floor and a range of seating, including chairs and sofas.

ResLife Ambassadors will be there to welcome you. You'll be able to recognise them in their light blue RLA hoodies and t-shirts with the ResLife logo on.

There will be some unstructured time at the start while people arrive. If you're coming on your own, our RLAs will happily introduce you to others or find you a seat.

RLAs will demonstrate the process step by step, then you can work at your own pace. You'll be shown how to use the carving tools safely before you start, and RLAs will be on hand throughout.

Printing can get a little inky, so wear something you don't mind getting messy.

You're welcome to leave and re-join at any point, and you'll take your block and prints home with you.
